Stripe integration

You can use the Breww/Stripe integration to process payments online within Breww. Customers of yours can pay for their invoices online (using the secure URL that Breww can email to them). If you use the Breww Trade Store, you can also take payments for online orders via Stripe.

Setting up the Stripe integration

The Stripe integration can be set up by going to Integrations -> Payments -> Stripe and using the New connection with Stripe button.

You will be guided through the integration setup process. This will always involve setting up a new account with Stripe (a rule that Stripe enforces with partners like Breww). If you already use Stripe, you can create this new account by logging into your existing account to save you from providing information to Stripe that you previously provided to create your original account.

Once the integration has been created and Stripe has validated your details, you need to associate the integration with one (or more) of your Invoicing details. Breww uses Invoicing details to allow you to configure how invoices are displayed to customers. This can be minor differences (such as how your address is shown, or different bank details to use for international customers), or to allow you to run multiple businesses from a single Breww account. In this case, you would likely have separate Stripe accounts for each business, which helps demonstrate the importance of this association.

Each of your Invoicing details will be shown on the Stripe Dashboard in Breww, allowing you to easily edit each one that should be able to use the Stripe integration and ensure they are associated.

By default, newly created Stripe integrations are disabled in Breww. Once you are happy with all of the information shown, you need to enable the integration by using the button provided.

Payments not showing/missing from my Stripe account

As described above, when you integrate Breww with Stripe, Stripe will, create another account that will typically be associated with your primary account (if you already used Stripe) and can be accessed using the same Stripe Dashboard login details. We'll call this your "sub-account".

If you don't already have a Stripe account, you'll create one in the process.

Keep in mind that since the sub-account is separate but linked to your main account, it might seem like payments are not received in your main Stripe account. However, payments processed through the Breww Stripe integration will come through to the linked sub-account. To view these payments, you will need to access the linked account.

Here's how you can do it:

  1. Go to the Stripe Dashboard.
  2. Click on the name of your current Stripe account in the top-left corner.
  3. You should see a list of your linked accounts. Choose the appropriate account from there to view the payments received.

By following these steps, you'll be able to access all payments made through the Breww Stripe integration in your linked account. If you encounter any issues or have further questions, feel free to reach out for assistance.

Stripe's use of a sub-account is a requirement from them and not something that we at Breww can choose not to use. This also has huge security benefits, as Breww will only have access to manage its own transactions. If you use Stripe already for other payments (such as your B2C website), Breww cannot access or manage these, and your website platform cannot access Breww's transactions.
