Logging your fermentation readings in the Analysis tab

Once you have brewed a batch, you can log your fermentation readings. You can log these readings in the Analysis tab on a batch. If you have selected Copy reading to fermentation logs on a recipe gravity reading, this will automatically add your OG reading to your fermentation logs when completed in the brewing page.

Add a fermentation reading

You can add a reading whilst on the batch by navigating to the analysis tab and selecting Add fermenation reading. You can also quickly add a reading on the main production dashboard by selecting the vessel holding your batch and clicking the button.

You can then log a time, gravity reading, vessel temperature and pH. You can also select a Gravity reading type of either Orginal or Final gravity. If your reading is being taken whilst tracking your fermentation, you can just leave this blank.

The reading fields shown on this form, whether each one is compulsory, and the units used are all configurable. You can add other reading categories such as CO₂, pressure or dissolved oxygen, and choose which are mandatory, in Settings -> Production settings -> Fermentation readings form. See Fermentation readings form for a walkthrough.

If you have taken both a gravity reading marked as Original gravity and a gravity reading marked as Final Gravity, then Breww will also add a calculated ABV to your batch, and you can choose in your Beer duty settings or on an individual batch which ABV to use for duty purposes from advertised, calculated or manually entered/custom specified.

Fermentation graphs

As you log your fermentation readings, this data will automatically get plotted onto a Fermentation summary graph and Yeast attenuation graph.

The above examples are readings taken from a batch that was brewed on a Breww team brew day using the Tilt hydrometer integration, logging the fermentation data over a period of time and automatically plotting the fermentation graphs!
