Batch schedule (calendar)
If you have followed the Planned batches and Vessel plans help guide and have selected a 'Planned start date', then you will be able to see this planned batch on your batch schedule. You will also be able to plan and create batches directly from the batch schedule. The batch schedule usually includes three tabs: your Brewery, Brewed by 3rd parties and Planned packagings.
If you have more than one site with a brewing system and at least one vessel, these will also have a tab on the batch schedule:

Scheduled batches on site
By selecting your brewery site, you will see the batches you produce yourself. Here, you can edit the schedule for your planned batches, including the use of your brewing system, vessel residency, and equipment usage. This will block out vessels for use so you can accurately manage your production scheduling.
Create a batch directly from the batch schedule
You can create a batch directly from the batch schedule by clicking the date you wish to start the batch in line with the brewing system you are using and then selecting Create new batch.

This will take you to the main 'New batch' screen, where you can follow the same process as outlined in the Planned batches help guide.
Managing the batch schedule
Once you have created your planned batches, the planned brewing system, vessel, and equipment will display as in use on the schedule. If you hover over the scheduled use, you will see the details surrounding the batch.

Any planned vessel use will be displayed with '(planned vessel use)', and you will be able to rearrange your schedule simply by dragging or extending the blocks on the batch schedule.

Once the batch has been started and transferred into a vessel, the use details will change from 'planned vessel use' to 'used planned vessel'. The block for the vessel the beer is currently in can no longer be moved to another vessel or have its start changed (as the vessel has already been filled), but you can still change its planned end date by dragging its end edge — see below. Any future vessel usage for that batch, such as a brite tank to be used after fermentation, can still be fully adjusted from the batch schedule.

Changing the planned end date for the vessel a batch is currently in
For an in-progress batch, you can change the planned end date of the vessel the beer is currently in by dragging the end edge of its block on the batch schedule. This is useful when a batch is spending longer (or less time) in a vessel than originally planned, and you want your schedule to show when the vessel will actually become available.
A few things to be aware of:
-
Only the end date can be changed; the start of the block is fixed, and the block can't be dragged onto a different vessel.
-
If the vessel was never part of the batch's plan, dragging the end will create a planned usage for it automatically, starting from the date the vessel was actually filled.
-
The new end date can't be before today (as the beer is still in the vessel), can't be before the start of the block, and can't overlap another planned use of the same vessel for that batch. If a change isn't allowed, the block will move back to where it was, with a message explaining why.
-
Once the beer has left the vessel, or the batch has been completed, the block is locked and its dates can't be changed from the schedule.
If you would like to make any other adjustments to the vessel planning for a batch which has been started (for example, moving planned usage to a different vessel or changing its start date), then head to the batch and select
Actions->Edit batch details. From here, you will see your 'actual' vessel usage alongside your 'Planned vessel usage' for the batch, and you will be able to amend what has been planned. If you have no planned vessel usage on a batch that you have started, you will still be able to add vessel planning by clicking in the space where you would like to plan vessel usage, and dragging this along the calendar. Once saved, these amendments will be reflected in the batch schedule.
Dependency arrows
Breww draws arrows between the blocks that belong to the same batch, showing the order in which that batch moves through your brewery — from the brew, into its first vessel, on into any later vessels, and through any equipment it uses. This lets you follow a batch across the calendar at a glance, without having to hover over each block to work out which batch it belongs to.

The arrows are worked out from your batch data, not simply from blocks that happen to sit next to each other:
-
Once a transfer has actually been recorded, the arrow follows that real transfer, so it always reflects what happened rather than what was planned.
-
For blocks that are still only planned, an arrow is drawn where the next block starts on the last day of the previous one (a same-day transfer) or on the day after it (a next-day fill).
-
Arrows are only ever drawn between blocks of the same batch, so two different batches using the same vessel one after the other are never joined up.
-
If a batch is split across two vessels running side by side, those two blocks aren't arrowed to each other, as neither one flows into the other. If they're later combined into a single vessel, you'll see an arrow from each of them into that vessel.
-
Planned packagings never have arrows drawn to or from them.
The same arrows are drawn on the Equipment schedule calendar on a batch's own page, so you can see the flow of an individual batch there too.
Showing and hiding the arrows
If you'd prefer to see the calendar without the arrows, click the Hide arrows button below the calendar. Click Show arrows to bring them back.

Your choice is remembered by your web browser, so it will still apply the next time you open the batch schedule, as well as to the Equipment schedule calendar on a batch's page. As it's saved in your browser rather than against your Breww user, it won't change what your colleagues see, and you'll need to set it again if you switch to another computer or browser.
Highlighting one batch at a time
Hovering over any block on the calendar fades everything else — all of the other batches and their arrows — leaving the batch you're pointing at standing out. Move your mouse away and the calendar returns to normal.

This also works on the Equipment schedule calendar on a batch's page, and on the vessel planning calendar you use when creating or editing a batch.
Schedule notes
Schedule notes allow you to add custom events to your batch schedule calendar, such as brewery closures, maintenance windows, team meetings, or any other important dates your production team needs to be aware of. These notes appear as coloured background highlights on the calendar, making them easy to distinguish from regular batch and packaging events.
Adding a schedule note
To add a schedule note, click the Add note button at the top of the batch schedule page. A form will open where you can fill in the following details:
-
Title -- A short name for the note (e.g. "Brewery closed", "Equipment maintenance").
-
Start date -- The date (and time, if not an all-day note) when the note begins.
-
All day -- Tick this if the note covers an entire day. When ticked, you only need to provide a start date. When unticked, an End date field will appear so you can specify the exact time range.
-
End date -- Required when All day is not ticked. This must be after the start date.
-
Description -- An optional longer description providing more context about the note.
-
Sites -- Select which sites this note should appear on. If you leave this blank, the note will appear on all site calendars.
-
Icon -- Optionally choose an icon that will be displayed alongside the note title on the calendar.
-
Colour -- Pick a colour for the note's background highlight on the calendar. A colour will be suggested automatically, but you can change it to whatever you prefer.
Once you have filled in the details, click Save to add the note to your batch schedule.
Viewing a schedule note
Schedule notes appear as coloured background bands on the calendar, with the note's title (and icon, if set) displayed inside them. You can hover over a schedule note to see a popover with the title and description.
To view the full details of a schedule note, click on it in the calendar. This will open a panel showing all of the note's information, including the title, date, description, assigned sites, colour, and who created the note.
Editing a schedule note
To edit a schedule note, first click on the note in the calendar to open the details panel, then click the Edit button. The same form used to create the note will open, allowing you to update any of the fields. Click Save to apply your changes, and the calendar will update automatically.
Deleting a schedule note
To delete a schedule note, click on the note in the calendar to open the details panel, then click the Delete button. You will be asked to confirm the deletion. Once confirmed, the note will be removed and the calendar will refresh.
Scheduled 3rd party contract brewed batches
On the Batch schedule, there is a tab for Brewed by 3rd parties; this will show the 'Contract brewed by 3rd party' and 'Collaboration at 3rd party' batches you have scheduled. Once a batch has been planned with a 'Planned start date', this will show on this schedule, where you can adjust the planned date simply by dragging the batch on the schedule.
Scheduled planned packagings
Any scheduled planned packagings will show on the 'Planned packagings' tab. This will include planned packagings from all batch types; the planned packaging details can be checked by simply hovering over the planned packaging in the schedule. If the scheduled date needs to be changed, then you will be able to do this by simply selecting the planned packaging and dragging it on the schedule. You can edit the planned packaging by clicking on the planned packaging.

By having a Planned start date selected for a planned Contract brewed by 3rd party batch, as well as planned packaging, then this will block out the duration between the start date and the packaging on the production schedule.
Hiding planned packagings from the site calendars
As well as having their own tab, planned packagings are shown on your site calendars, on the row of the vessel the beer is in on the packaging date. On a busy schedule, this can make those rows taller and the calendar harder to scan.
If you'd like to concentrate on brewing, vessel and equipment use, click the Hide planned packagings button below the calendar. The planned packagings are removed from the site and Brewed by 3rd parties calendars, and the rows shrink to fit only what's left. Click Show planned packagings to bring them back.

The dedicated Planned packagings tab is unaffected and will always show them. As with the arrows, your choice is remembered by your web browser rather than against your Breww user.
