Converting stock between derived beers

If you have packaged beer into a product and need to convert some of that stock to a derived beer product (or from a derived beer back to the base beer), you can do this without re-packaging. This is useful when you need to relabel or reassign packaged stock between related beer products.

When to use this

Use Convert stock between related beers when:

  • You have packaged kegs, casks, or smallpack as one product and need to reassign some to a derived beer product (or vice versa)

  • You are relabelling stock from a base beer to a derived beer, or from one derived beer to another derived beer that shares the same base

  • You want to move stock between related products without physically re-packaging the liquid

This is not the same as re-packaging or "Package from containers". Re-packaging involves physically moving liquid into new containers, while converting stock simply reassigns the product designation of existing packaged stock. To convert stock, both products must share the same container type and must be related through derived packaging beer relationships (sharing the same base beer).

How to convert stock

  1. Go to Products and find the product you want to convert stock from.

  2. Click Actions -> Convert stock between related beers.

  3. In the Product to convert to step:

    • Select the Related beer product to convert stock to from the dropdown. This will show all products that share the same base beer (or derived beer family) and the same container type.

    • For kegs and casks: Select the specific filled containers you want to convert from the multi-select list. Each container is shown with its container code, batch, and location.

    • For smallpack: Select the stock line to convert from, then enter the Quantity to convert.

  4. In the Stock items used step, optionally record any stock items consumed during the conversion (for example, new labels or packaging materials).

  5. Review the summary and click Convert to complete the conversion.

Once confirmed, the stock will be moved from the original product to the target product.
