Stock availability forecast

You can forecast your future stock levels in Breww by using the Stock availability forecast tool, which you can access from either Reporting-> Pre-built production & inventory reports, or Products -> Tools & reports.

This report analyses your live stock levels, expected planned packagings on current and future batches and a sales forecast to forecast future stock levels.

Sales forecast options

There are multiple ways that the Stock availability forecast can generate a sales forecast for predicting future stock levels.

Based upon average sales

The first and most basic way of generating a sales forecast is using one of the Based upon average sales options. These are two related options:

  • Based upon average sales per day of week (typical Mondays, Tuesdays, etc.)
  • Based upon average sales per day

Choosing to average sales per day of week will mean Breww takes an average sales quantity for each specific day so a Monday may show as having a steeper drop then the Tuesday. Using per day is simpler and will apply a simple average of sales over the time period, divided by the number of days in that time period, and apply it evenly to each day.

You can optimise either setting using the Weeks of history to consider option, which allows you to extend the time period if your sales tend to be steadier and less seasonal or reduce the time period if they are more seasonal.

Based upon outstanding future deliveries already scheduled

This forecast method only uses scheduled but incomplete future deliveries, and won't attempt to predict any other sales.

Use saved forecast

This option allows you to select a saved sales forecast that you've created yourself in Breww. You can read more about how to create a saved sales forecast here: Saved sales forecasts.

Once created, a saved sales forecast can simply be selected on this report, and Breww will use the figures entered there as the expected future sales.

Don't forecast future sales/deliveries at all

You can select this option if you are only interested in seeing when planned packagings are due in the future and when, and do not want to view any forecasted sales.
