Raw materials & packaging reports
Two pre-built reports cover the raw materials and packaging side of production: one for what you've bought in, and one for what a particular beer has consumed. Both are under Reporting → Pre-built Production & inventory reports → Stock movements & adjustments.
Received raw materials & packaging
This report shows everything received in a date range, with what it cost you.
Running the report
Choose a reporting period, how to group the results, and optionally which stock item types, supplier and delivery sites to include.
Group by options: Stock item, Stock item type, Supplier or Month.
Reading the results
Grouped by stock item, each row shows the stock item, item type, number of receipts, quantity received, total landed spend, that item's share of total spend, the average landed cost per unit, the last receipt's cost per unit, the last receipt date, and how the last cost compares with the average.
That last column is the useful one for spotting price movement - a stock item whose latest price is well above its average for the period is worth a conversation with the supplier.
The other groupings show receipts, total landed spend and share of spend for each stock item type, supplier or month.
What's included
- Only finalised inventory receipts are included.
- Receipts are dated by the receipt's delivery date.
- Spend is the landed cost, so it includes other costs such as shipping (see Inventory receipt cost allocation methods for additional costs), converted into your base currency.
Row actions
Rows offer View stock item, View supplier, View receipt entries in a quickview, and View receipt lines to drill through to a line-by-line view showing the receipt, delivery date, supplier, stock item, quantity, landed cost per unit and line spend.
Raw materials & packaging by beer
This report shows what a single beer has consumed over a period, and what it cost.
Running the report
Choose a reporting period and the beer you want to look at, and optionally which sites and brew types to include.
Reading the results
Each row is a stock item, showing:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Stock item | The item used |
| Type | The stock item's type |
| % of cost | That item's share of the beer's total material cost |
| Quantity used | Total quantity allocated |
| Total cost | Total cost of those allocations |
| Avg cost per unit | The average unit cost across the period |
| Batches | How many batches used it |
| Last batch cost | The unit cost on the most recent batch |
| Last batch vs avg | How that compares with the average |
What's included
The report uses the date stock was allocated directly to a batch. Stock consumed inside an ingredient batch or a product assembly is not included, because it isn't allocated to the beer's batch directly.
Row actions
Rows offer View stock item and View allocations, which opens the individual allocations in a quickview.
