Batch efficiency report

The Batch efficiency report compares what you set out to brew with what you actually brewed and packaged, one row per completed batch, so you can see where volume is being lost and how consistent your brews are.

Find it under ReportingPre-built Production & inventory reportsBatches & production.

Running the report

Choose a reporting period (batches are included when they started in that period) and, optionally, which brew types to include.

Reading the results

Each row is a completed batch and shows:

Column What it means
Batch The batch number/gyle
Beer The beer the batch was brewed as
Recipe version The recipe version used
Brew date When the batch was started
Target volume The volume the batch was planned at
Volume brewed The volume actually brewed
Volume packaged The total volume successfully packaged from the batch
Transfers How many transfer actions the batch had
Transfer loss % Loss across vessel transfers and merges, weighted by volume
Brew to package loss % Total loss from brewing through to packaging
Yield % vs target Packaged volume as a percentage of the target volume
Days brew to package Elapsed days from brew date to packaging

Switch to View as chart for two views: a brew-to-package loss trend across batches in date order, with a four-batch rolling average, and average loss broken down by beer with your overall average marked as a reference line.

What counts as a loss

  • Transfer loss is volume-weighted across vessel transfers and merges. It deliberately excludes the brewing stage itself and excludes packaging.
  • Brew to package loss includes packaging losses. Every individual event making up these figures is itemised on the beer loss report.
  • Negative volume additions (volume removed from a batch) net out of the brewed volume and are also itemised on the beer loss report.

Row actions

Each row offers View batch to open the batch, View batch actions to see the batch's actions in a quickview, and View loss events to drill into the loss events behind the loss percentages.
