Vessel groups

Breww has three pre-defined vessel groups: Primary, Secondary and Pilot. Your individual vessels can then be created within these groups, e.g., fermenters, brite tanks, etc. However, you can also use your own terminology for the vessel groupings to reflect what you would call these internally for your business. For example, you may want your Primary vessels to instead read in Breww as 'Fermenting room vessels'.

Creating your own vessel groups

You can customise your vessel groups by heading to Production -> View -> Vessels -> Vessel groups. The same page is also available from Settings -> Production settings -> Vessel groups. Here, the Breww pre-set groups will be displayed, where you can then rename any existing groups by selecting the edit icon. Alternatively, you can add new vessel groups by selecting New vessel group.

A vessel group only needs a name, and that name has to be unique within your account. If you try to reuse one, Breww will ask you to pick something different.

Changing the order of your vessel groups

Once you have more than one vessel group, you can drag the rows of the table into whatever order suits you, using the drag handle at the right-hand end of each row. The new order is saved as soon as you drop the row, so there's no separate save button.

This order is used for the order the groups appear in on the production dashboard, and on the batch schedule when that is grouped by vessel group.

Deleting a vessel group

Use the red bin icon to remove a group you no longer need. A group that still has vessels in it can't be deleted, and Breww will tell you that the group is currently in use. Move those vessels into another group (or mark them as obsolete) first, then delete the group.

Organising your batch schedule by vessel group

By default, your batch schedule is organised by vessel group. If you'd rather it was organised by vessel type (fermenter, brite tank and so on), head to Settings -> Production settings and change the Preferred batch schedule vessel grouping.
