Settings
Breww offers lots of settings which you can use to customise Breww to work the way that you want. Most of them are self-explanatory, but we'll cover some of the more complex options here.
Finding a setting
Select Settings in the main menu to open the settings page. It has three parts:
- A Search all settings box across the top.
- A list of settings areas down the side: Sales, orders & invoices, Customers & CRM, Production, Deliveries, Stock, sites & purchasing, Emails, labels & printing, Business, duty & account and Your user account. The number beside each area is how many settings pages it holds.
- The pages themselves, grouped into cards within each area. For example, the Production area has Batches & recipes, Vessels & equipment and Packaging & shelf life cards.

All settings shows every area at once. Choose an area from the list to show just its pages. The area you choose is kept in the page's web address, so going back from a settings page returns you to the same area, and you can bookmark an area you use often.
You only see the areas and pages that your permissions let you open. See User groups and permissions for more.
Searching your settings
Start typing in the Search all settings box and the results appear as you type. You can also press / anywhere on the settings page to jump straight to the search box.
The results are split into two lists:
- Settings - individual settings, matched on their name, their help text and the heading they sit under. Some settings only appear once another setting is changed, and these results tell you which one, for example "Only shows when Default delivery date calculation method is Fixed number of working days after invoice creation".
- Pages - whole settings pages, matched on their name and on common alternative words for them (so searching for
2FAfinds your two-factor authentication page). Pages that contain a list of your own records also match on what's in the forms behind them, and the result tells you where the match was found.
Every result shows where it lives, such as Deliveries → Delivery options & defaults → Working days. The search uses the same language you use Breww in, and it will still find a match if you make a small typo in a longer word.

Press Enter to open the first result, or use the arrow keys to move through the results. Press Escape to clear the search and go back to browsing the areas.
Going straight to a setting
When you choose a setting from the search results, Breww opens the page it's on, scrolls down to the setting and highlights it. If the setting is inside a collapsed section, the section opens for you.
If the setting is hidden until you change another setting, Breww highlights that other setting instead and tells you what to change, for example "Working days after invoice creation appears once you set Default delivery date calculation method to Fixed number of working days after invoice creation". Once you change it, the highlight moves across to the setting you were looking for.

Help text, warnings and messages elsewhere in Breww often mention the setting that controls them. These are links that work in the same way, taking you to the page with the setting highlighted. If you don't have permission to open that page, Breww shows the full path to the setting instead, such as Settings → Production → General production settings → Unit system, so you can pass it on to someone who does.
Moving between settings pages
The breadcrumbs at the top of each settings page link back to Settings and to the area the page is in. Pages that are part of a larger set, such as the order and invoice pages and the delivery pages, also have a menu in the top right (for example Other delivery settings) that lists the other pages in the same area.
Integrations
Breww integrates with lots of other well-known software platforms. For an overview of these and how they work, please see our integrations page. View our dedicated Accountancy software integrations for everything you need to know about our Xero, QuickBooks Online and Sage integrations.
Customer tags
You can define your own "tags" in Breww, which can then be assigned to customers or contacts. Tags are really flexible as you can make them work in so many ways and use them to filter lists and reports using Introduction to BrewwQL. There are some built-in tags (such as Receives invoice emails) that change the way the system treats the customers/contacts that have the tag (in this case, the tag causes the email addresses associated to be included by default when you send an invoice to a customer via email).
Sites & locations
Breww is capable of handling breweries that operate over multiple sites or deliver beer to customers who have their own bonded warehouses. Breww understands how all of this works and correctly calculates the associated beer duty for you. All Breww accounts have a default site of Brewery and a default location of Main. Locations exist within sites and allow you to track stock and containers around different "locations" within your sites (brewery/warehouses), so if you have a big brewery or warehouse, you don't just know that you have what you need - you know where to find it. This is also really useful for stock rotation. You can also choose which sites can fulfil orders and which store stock for other purposes.
Users and user groups
All Breww accounts have unlimited users included in the price. Invite your colleagues and other people that you work closely with (such as accountants) to Breww. You can use our fine-grain access controls to manage who can use which sections of Breww. Users can be assigned to groups to make managing permissions easier, but you can also assign extra permissions directly to users if you need to. User groups are useful in a number of other areas of Breww and are a great way to manage people - for example, you can create tasks and either assign them to an individual user or assign them to an entire group.
See User groups and permissions for a full guide to groups, permissions, user flags and the tools for auditing who can do what.
User invitations
If you invite other users to Breww, simply enter their email address and we'll send them an email letting them know. If they're new to Breww, we'll suggest they open an account to join you. If they already have a Breww account, we'll let them join your brewery (with the permission levels you granted them). Users can be part of multiple breweries at the same time - see below. Inviting your team walks through the whole process.
Accessing multiple Breww breweries
If you're already part of a (non-demo) Breww account and you're invited to join another brewery, you can join that brewery without losing access to your original account. There's no limit on how many accounts you can have access to at once. This is particularly useful for cuckoo/gipsy/contract breweries and advisers/contractors. Simply click on your profile picture (or initials if you don't have one) in the top-right of the screen and change your brewery in your profile.
