Beer/drink styles

Breww comes pre-populated with numerous beer styles, but occasionally you may create a beer or other beverage that doesn't fit within these styles.

Adding a style

To add a new beer style, head to Production -> View -> Beers -> Beer styles -> New beer style. The same page is also available from Settings -> Production settings, where it's listed as your drink styles.

A style just needs a name, and that name has to be unique within your account.

Styles and drink types

Every style belongs to one of your drink types - beer, cider, spirits and so on. If you only use a single drink type, Breww fills this in for you and you won't see the field at all.

If you use more than one drink type, you'll be asked which one the style belongs to when you create it. The drink type can't be changed afterwards, so if you pick the wrong one, create the style again under the right drink type and move your drinks across. When you have more than one drink type, the list also gains a Drink type column so you can see at a glance which type each style sits under.

Once created, your new beer style can be applied to existing or new beers.

Editing and deleting a style

Use the pencil icon to rename a style, and the red bin icon to delete one.

If any drinks are still using the style you're deleting, Breww will ask which style they should be moved to instead, and will list only styles of the same drink type. Confirming the deletion moves those drinks over and then removes the style, so no drink is ever left without one. Deleting a style needs the brewery admin permission.
