Customising how your trade store looks

Your trade store is hosted by Breww but it should look like yours, not like ours. Almost everything a customer sees can be branded or rewritten, per store.

Most of it lives under Settings & toolsBranding & content on your store's dashboard, with categories on their own page.

Colours and fonts

Set separately for headings, normal text and buttons:

  • Heading text colour and Heading text font, with an option to display headings in uppercase.
  • Normal text colour and Normal text font.
  • Primary button background and text colour, Secondary button background and text colour, and an option to display button text in uppercase.

Fonts are chosen from Google Fonts, so type the name of any font listed there. A live preview at the top of the page shows your choices applied to headings, body text and buttons as you make them.

The branding settings, with a live preview above the heading, text and button colour and font fields

Your store shows the logo held against the invoicing details it uses, so it matches your invoices and delivery notes. If you haven't uploaded one, your store shows Breww's logo instead, which the readiness checklist will flag.

Hero image and welcome text

Upload a Hero image shown across the top of your store, and write Hero welcome text beneath it. We recommend an image at least 1600 pixels wide.

Two tick boxes decide where it appears:

  • Show on the categories page
  • Show on product listing pages

With neither ticked, your content is still saved but shown nowhere, so you can write it before your store goes live.

Hero images are shown at their own size and centred rather than stretched, so a smaller image stays sharp instead of being blown up.

  • Footer content is shown in the footer of every page of your store.
  • Basket sidebar content is shown at the bottom of the basket page, beside the checkout button. It's a good place for order cut-off times, or who to ring about a large order.

Both are written as rich content, so you can include links and formatting.

Favicon

Upload a square image of at least 196 pixels, ideally 512, and Breww generates the sizes browsers ask for. This is the small icon shown in the browser tab and in bookmarks. Leave it blank and Breww's icon is used.

Page alert message

A short message shown at the top of every page of your store. Use it for anything time-sensitive, such as a delivery cut-off or a holiday closure.

Login and application page background

The new customer form, login and similar pages sit on a full-page background. Choose either a Background image or a Background colour. For an image, we recommend at least 1000 pixels wide and high.

Terms and conditions

Anything you write here is published on your store, and your customers must accept it before they can complete checkout. Leave it blank and no acceptance is asked for.

What your drinks are called

The drink name setting changes the wording used around the store, so a cider maker's customers see "Browse by cider" rather than "Browse by beer".

What your store opens on

Under General settings, Store home page decides where customers land:

  • The categories page
  • All products
  • A specific category

How products are laid out

Default product view sets whether products first appear as a grid of cards or as a list grouped by drink. Each customer can switch between the two themselves using the toggle above the products, and Breww remembers what they picked for next time.

Categories

Categories come from your drink and product tags. Any tag marked to show as a trade store category appears on your store. See Drink and product tags for how tags are created.

The categories settings page, where categories are dragged into order and given their own page details

The Categories settings page lists them and lets you:

  • Drag them into the order you want them shown on your store's home page. Ordering is per store, so two stores can present the same tags differently.
  • Write a page for each one by clicking through to it.

Each category's page can have:

  • A page title that replaces the tag's name as the heading on that category's page and on the card linking to it. The tag name itself is untouched, so it still reads correctly as a badge on a product and as a filter.
  • A short description, shown under the category's name on the categories page.
  • Featured, which gives that category a full-width banner across the top of the categories page, above the others.
  • A hero image for that category's page.
  • Content above the products and content below the products.

All of this is held per store, so the same tag can be titled and illustrated differently in each of your stores.

Extra product details

Under General settings you can switch on, each off by default:

  • Show product barcodes on product and drink pages. Switching this on also lets your customers search by scanning the barcode on a bottle.
  • Show country of origin, read from each product's own field, which is also used on export invoices. Check those values are right before switching this on.
  • Show bitterness (IBU), shown as a badge on a drink's page for drinks that have a bitterness value.

Pricing on show

Show list price if the customer's price is lower displays the list price next to the customer's own price, to highlight that they're buying at a discount.
