# Weekly production summary report

The **Weekly production summary** report gives you a single view of how production is trending: brewed volume, packaged volume, loss volume and COGS per packaged unit, week by week, with the recent quarter compared against the previous quarter and against the same quarter a year ago.

Find it under **Reporting** → **Pre-built Production & inventory reports** → **Batches & production**.

## Running the report

The only required input is an **As of** date, which defaults to today. From that date Breww builds three 13-week windows:

- **Recent 13 weeks** - the 13 weeks up to your as-of date.
- **Previous 13 weeks** - the 13 weeks immediately before that.
- **Same 13 weeks last year** - the same 13 calendar weeks one year earlier.

Weeks run to a Sunday week-ending date.

You can optionally narrow the report by beer, beer tag, brew type and site.

## Reading the results

The report opens on its charts. There is one chart per measure - brewed volume, packaged volume, loss volume and COGS per packaged unit - each showing every week on the same timeline, with the three comparison windows picked out in different colours and a four-week rolling average drawn over the top.

Above each chart, headline tiles show the recent 13-week total, plus the change against the previous 13 weeks and against the same 13 weeks last year.

Switch to **View as table** for the underlying figures: one row per window and week ending, with brewed volume, packaged volume, loss volume and COGS per packaged unit. Each row has a **View loss events** action that drills into the [beer loss report](https://breww.com/docs/beer-loss-report/) for that week.

## How each measure is worked out

**Brewed volume** counts new liquid entering production, based on when it happened rather than when the batch started:

- For batches brewed in-house, the successful volume of transfers, merge-starts and stock adjustments taken from the batch's start action.
- For offsite batches, the planned volume, dated from when the batch started.
- Volume additions to in-house batches.

This event-based definition is deliberately different from the batch-level figure on the [batch efficiency report](https://breww.com/docs/batch-efficiency-report/), which measures a whole batch against its own brew date.

**Packaged volume** is the successful volume of packaging actions in the week.

**Loss volume** uses the same loss events as the [beer loss report](https://breww.com/docs/beer-loss-report/).

**COGS per packaged unit** is weighted: total eligible costs divided by total positive packaged volume for the window. It is not an average of the weekly rates, so a week with very little packaging can't distort the headline figure.
