# Vessel utilisation report

The **Vessel utilisation** report shows how hard your vessels are working - how often each one is filled, how long it stays occupied, and how much of the period it sits empty.

Find it under **Reporting** → **Pre-built Production & inventory reports** → **Vessels**.

## Running the report

Choose a reporting period, how to group the results, and optionally which sites to include.

**Group by** options:

- **Occupancy** - one row for each time a vessel was filled and emptied, with a timeline chart.
- **Vessel** - one summary row per vessel, with utilisation and empty time.

## Occupancy view

Each row is a single occupancy, showing the vessel, batch, beer, when it was filled, when it was emptied, how many days it was occupied, volume in, volume out and loss.

The chart is a timeline with one lane per vessel and a block for each occupancy, colour-coded by whether it was a drink batch or an ingredient batch. This makes gaps - and overlaps - obvious at a glance.

## Vessel view

Each row summarises one vessel over the period: vessel type, site, capacity, number of occupancies, number of batches, total volume through, average days occupied per fill, total days occupied, days empty and empty percentage.

Each row offers **View occupancies** to drill into the individual fills behind the summary.

## How occupancy is worked out

- Occupancies include drink batch use, ingredient batch use and serving batch use. Volume figures are only shown for drink batch use.
- An occupancy that starts before or ends after your reporting period only counts the portion that falls inside it.
- Serving batch end times can be approximate where a stock reconciliation emptied the vessel.
- **Total days occupied** sums every occupancy separately, while **days empty** merges overlapping occupancies. A vessel with simultaneous occupancies can therefore show more days occupied than the reporting window actually contains.
