# FAQs - Xero

## How do I import my Xero customers into Breww?

You can import your customers directly from Xero into Breww, so there's no need to export them to a spreadsheet first. Each customer imported this way is automatically mapped to its Xero contact, so Breww won't create a duplicate in Xero when it uploads their invoices.

1. Connect Xero to Breww from **Integrations** → **Accountancy** (see [Accountancy](https://breww.com/docs/accountancy/)). You don't need to enable syncing before importing.
2. Next to Xero, select **Actions** → **Configuration**.
3. On the **Dashboard** tab, in the **Data import & mapping** section, click **Map and download customers**.
4. To import all of your Xero customers in one go, click **Import all unmapped** at the top of the page. To import a single customer, click **Import from Xero to Breww** on its row.

To avoid duplicates, **Import all unmapped** skips any Xero contact that Breww thinks may already exist in Breww (shown with a **Suggestion** on its row). Map these to their Breww customer with **Map** or **Accept all suggestions**, or import them individually if they're genuinely new.

The list includes Xero contacts marked as customers, along with contacts that aren't yet marked as either a customer or a supplier. Archived contacts aren't listed. If you've just added a contact in Xero, click **Refresh data** to see it.

For what's brought across for each customer, and what to set up afterwards, see [Importing customers and suppliers from your accountancy software](https://breww.com/docs/accountancy/#importing-customers-and-suppliers-from-your-accountancy-software).

## I've created a contact in Xero; can I map them to Breww?

When you create a contact in Xero, this can be a customer, supplier, or both. Contacts in Xero will show on the Breww mapping tools, where you can map each one to an existing Breww customer or supplier, or import it into Breww as a new one. If a contact you've just created isn't showing yet, click **Refresh data** at the top of the mapping page.

## Product mapping in Xero

Xero, as an accountancy software, has a unique concept of products, and these can be mapped to your products in Breww. If you want to use this, you will need to have each product set up in Xero first. Once your product is set up in Xero, you will need to copy the product SKU from Xero, go to the relevant product in Breww, select **Edit**, and under the header "Accountancy integration options" enter the Accountancy product SKU. Once this is done, the product in Breww and the product in Xero will now be mapped.
