# Batch comparison dashboards

Batch comparison dashboards let you build a saved, at-a-glance view that compares readings across multiple batches of the same recipe. Unlike comparing readings from within a single batch, a dashboard is configured once and can be revisited at any time, making it easy to keep an eye on consistency between brews.

If you only want to compare a single batch against your recent batches on an ad-hoc basis, you can do this directly from the batch instead — see [Batch readings comparison](https://breww.com/docs/batch-comparison-reporting/).

To help get you started, all Breww accounts get one "Example dashboard" by default that you are free to modify or delete as needed.

## Creating a batch comparison dashboard

To create a dashboard, head to **Production** -> **View** -> **Batch comparison dashboards**, then select the option to create a new dashboard.

When setting up a dashboard, you can choose:

* How to let Breww determine which **batches** to include in the comparison.

* The **readings and input variables** you would like to display. Any numeric batch reading can be charted, including your own custom readings, alongside attenuation and any input variables set on the recipe.

* If you'd like to share the dashboard with others in your team, or keep it private to just you.

Once saved, the dashboard will display your selected readings as graphs, allowing you to spot trends and variations between batches at a glance.

If the beer has a [benchmark batch](https://breww.com/docs/benchmark-batches/) set, it will always be included on these graphs as its own highlighted reference line, so you can compare the other batches against your ideal.

## Viewing and managing your dashboards

* When viewing a batch you can view your dashboards for that batch in the **Batch comparisons** tab.
* From the main production dashboard page, you can view dashboards for any batch that is in-progress (or completed today) and switch between them quickly using the **Batch comparisons** tab.
* Your saved dashboards are listed under **Production** -> **View** -> **Batch comparison dashboards**. From here you can open an existing dashboard to edit its configuration, or create additional dashboards to compare other options.
